What do you get to do in this position?

Reporting to the Development Manager, Software Development, you will join a team that includes four other engineers. This team is part of a global R&D; group of 30+. In general, you will design and develop GDI and GDI+ based process graphics and animations, MFC and WinForms based user interface, and workflow in a distributed virtual team environment. In addition to working with the Lake Forest team members you will provide direction to offshore teams.

In addition to working on InTouch features you are also expected to do some level of multitasking.

Your key objectives will include:

  • Providing expertise and leadership in authoring, review, and validation of all software development deliverables across the product life cycle.

  • Planning, designing and developing unit tests, and implementing and documenting complex software applications.

Your specific activities will include:

  • The detailed design and implementation of InTouch features based on a defined set of high level use cases (UCs) and detailed functional specifications (DFSs).

  • Contributing to project schedule task/work breakdown and establishing realistic expectations on timelines/deliveries.

  • Communicating project status and issues proactively to management.

  • Assessing, communicating, and mitigating technical, project and design risks.

This job might be for you if:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related discipline.

  • At least 7+ years of software development experience, including enterprise architecture.

  • Experience in design and development of desktop application.

  • Experience in C, C++, C#, MFC, WinForm, GDI, GDI+, .Net, VS 2013, VS 2017, COM..COM.

  • Hands on experience with configuration tools like ClearCase and Microsoft Team Foundation System and defect tracking tools like ClearQuest is plus.

  • Knowledge of object-oriented analysis, design and programming.

  • Extensive UML experience; some exposure to UML 2.0 is desirable.

  • Experience with the structural and behavioral UML document types: Deployment, Class, Use Case, Sequence and Action.

  • Clear communication skills.

  • Experience working in an outsourcing model and/or working with offshore teams in the capacity of a technical lead.
