St. Joseph Health Procurement Expeditor in Irvine, California

Providence St. Joseph Health is calling an Expeditor, Procurement to our offices in Irvine, CA.We are seeking a Procurement expeditor to perform a variety of general office and procurement functions which support the Procurement Services department. The expeditor is the central point to receive and facilitate all general incoming phone and email requests to Procurement. Initiate communication with Procurement personnel and partnering with Contracting, the Data Management Team, and vendor representatives, to ensure the fulfillment of contract terms, monitor vendor accuracy in ERP system, and coordinate item and vendor requests. The expeditor with direction from management is responsible for coordinating department requests as directed by management for daily procurement department function. This position requires computer proficiency which includes data entry, document management, and data retrieval. Above average typing skills with strong background in keyboard data entry. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept. Successfully uses technologies for auto-triggered purchase orders, Internet catalog, Internet price search, and electronic transfer of orders to vendor via EDI or Internet. Plans and performs tasks correctly, in a timely and orderly manner, while meeting productivity goals. Understands the organizational structure of Providence St. Joseph Health. Able to effectively problem-solve issues and tasks. Adheres to established policies and procedure and exhibiting the defined characteristics associated with attendance and punctuality. Possesses problem solving skills at a level where informed decisions can be made according to identified processes with minimal leadership intervention.Essential Job Functions:Assists in expediting all issues pertaining to acquisition, receiving, distribution and invoice reconciliation.Reviews open orders, backorders and unconfirmed files utilizing the reporting feature within MMIS, expedites overdue shipments per established Procurement business processes and collaborates with the Sr. Buyer on appropriate next steps if resolution cannot be secured.Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes assessing customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating customer satisfaction.Contributes to the proper and timely payment of invoices by communicating with vendors and maintaining communication with Accounts Payable. Reconciles shipping problems with receiving.Required qualifications for this position include:H.S.
